Building Spiritual Communities

Youth Events

The Bahá’í Community sponsors events for youth. Youth are encouraged to develop a strong sense of purpose, empowering their own transformation and leading them to contribute to the advancement of society. Young people’s spiritual capacity, the basis for their own happiness and sense of well-being, is a powerful force for social change.

Junior Youth

Junior Youth programs are for youth between the ages of 12 and 15. The aim of these programs is to make junior youth aware of the need and urgent opportunity to take charge of their own personal growth and to help them to position themselves to play their unique role, together with their peers, in the carrying forward of an ever-advancing civilization.

All men have been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization.” (-Baha’u’llah)

Workbooks, discussions and group efforts are designed to help them to transition out of the mold of childhood and to encourage, strengthen, and nurture the questions, themes and patterns that emerge as new perspectives and emotions start to open inner doors that can have such a profound impact on the rest of their lives.

The workbooks cover such themes as:

  • Importance of service and effort
  • The correct response to adversity
  • Conscience
  • Spiritual perception
  • An objective approach to music and media
  • Freedom from Prejudice
  • Why math matters
  • Control of the natural emotions
  • Listening to one’s inner voice
  • Positive friendships
